Audi is now taking orders for the 2022 e-tron GT, the crowned jewel of their electrification movement. It is available for clients to configure at the automakers website. This e-tron is a high-performance electric grand tourer. This fully electric model is a long, low, wide and fast variation. The e-tron GT has an EPA-estimated range of 238 miles, and 232 miles on the RS e-tron GT that packs 637 horsepower. Customers can check out their local dealership to test drive the new model.
Beyond the premium features, Audi offers customers a three year public DC fast-charging plan through Electrify America at no additional cost, customized in-home Level 2 charging solutions, and concierge customer service. Audi’s platform is providing top notch client service and sales driven by client experience, but this is taking it to the next level.
The U.S. models e-tron will come standard with 20-inch 5-double-spoke alloy wheels with grey accents. When clients upgrade to a performance package, the wheels are the same but accented in black. It also has matrix-design headlights with Audi laser light for additional high-beam visibility and road presence. On the interior, the e-tron GT features leather-free upholstery made with recycled materials, another shift towards global sustainability. Clients also have a choice of Dinamica and Alcantara, and can upgrade to Nappa leather. The flat-bottom steering wheel comes wrapped in Alcantara, but a perforated leather option is available.
The electric car runs smoothly on dual motors, producing 469 horsepower with 464 lb-ft of torque, and up to 522 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque with over-boost in launch control. This gives the e-tron the ability to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 152 mph. The e-tron GT comes with rear wheel steering to enhance responsiveness and precision handling at all speeds. This feature allows the e-tron’s rear wheels to turn in the opposite direction from the front wheels at speeds up to around 30 mph, a max of 2.8 degrees.
Audi is offering this vehicle in only two trims: Premium Plus and Prestige. The entry level, Premium Plus trim features standard 14-way adjustable heated seats, adaptive air suspension, matrix-designed LED headlights with high beam assist. One optional package includes, premium Driver Assistance system, full leather interior with ventilated and massaging seats. Another option, the performance package, comes with e-torque vectoring plus, Black optic appearance and Audi laser headlights. The Prestige trim comes standard with Driver Assistance package, head up display, top view camera, dual panel windows, remote park assist, and Bang & Olufsen Sound. One optional package provides full leather interior with ventilated and massaging seats. The Performance package variation offers e-torque vectoring plus, Black optic appearance, Audi laser headlights, and 21” inch wheels. The starting price on this model is $99,900 plus a $1,045 destination fee, with a federal tax credit up to $7,500.
The RS e-tron GT comes standard with 20-inch 5-spoke sustainably manufactured AERO wheels or available 21-inch wheels. It comes standard with a lightweight, high-strength, carbon roof panel. The carbon roof panel is a first for the Audi brand and a segment-exclusive feature. The RS e-tron GT variants, with front and rear motors, pump out 590 horsepower and up to 637 horsepower with over-boost in launch control. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph. Electric vehicles have speed and torque off the line.
The RS e-tron GT comes standard with a carbon fiber roof panel, Driver Assistance Package, head up display, power steering plus, e-torque vectoring plus and carbon fiber accents on the front and rear bumpers. A Carbon Performance Package is optional, offering rear wheel steering, 21-inch 5 spoke wheels, carbon fiber accents on the door trims, Audi laser headlights, and black exterior badging. Clients can chose a full leather interior. A Year One Package is also available, it includes Carbon Performance Package, full leather, 21-inch wheels with red ceramic brakes, and the interior is black with red contrast stitching with red seat belts. The starting price on the RS model is $139,900 plus a $1,045 destination fee, with a federal tax credit up to $7,500.
The 2022 Audi e-tron GT is offered in nine exterior colors, paired with six different interior Dinamica/Leatherette or Fine Nappa leather options. This give the ability to really personalize your vehicle. The Audi e-tron GT can be customized with a bespoke treatment through Audi Exclusive.
The Electrify America collaboration gives Audi owners access to 800 charging stations, with plans for 3,500 by the end of the year. Clients can use up to a maximum 270 kW charging speed when using public DC fast charging, which is approximately 180 miles of range in 22 minutes.
Audi has a dedicated Customer Care team staffed with e-tron specialists to provide any support needed. This is a customer centric concierge level experience at your fingertips. They even have roadside assistance to ease your mind. Audi provides these services at the right time, because people are starting to buy their first EV models, sometimes new things come with a learning curve. The E-tron GT is the first EV model to have an Audi Care option, which is available for $999 plus tax for three years (a lower price point compared to other Audi vehicles). Audi Care for EVs include: servicing for the first three years with coverage on windshield wipers and brake pads, valet pickup and drop-off for service maintenance, mobile service for basic maintenance or tire changing, and up to 10 available free tows to an Audi service center. Audi is working with Electrify America and partner Qmerit to provide customized home charging solutions, including recommended Level 2 AC wall boxes and professional installation. Through concierge services, Audi will give customers the option of installing a 9.6 kW charger in their garage via a one-stop, white-glove experience.
