Volvo introduces the world to the new C40 Recharge, it’s first purely electric and leather-free interior option. The Volvo C40 Recharge has a moderate starting price, in the United States, of $58,750 before applicable tax credits. This vehicle has all the benefits of an SUV, but styled aesthetically like a crossover. Volvo has a business collaboration with Electrify American that includes 250 kWh of complimentary charging for all 2022 Volvo models, to be used during the first three years of ownership.
The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge (and the XC40 Recharge) offers two new trim levels: Plus and Ultimate. For the C40 Recharge in the Ultimate trim level, it is equipped with an Android Operating System with Google imbedded, oversized fixed Panoramic Moonroof, Pixel LED lighting, Pilot Assist, Harman Kardon Premium Sounds, 360 degree Surround View Camera and trim specific 20” wheels. For no additional fee, Volvo is offering the option of the Fjord Blue Carpet combined with four of the seven exterior paint colors.
Volvo Cars is working diligently towards the goal to be carbon neutral by 2040. The goal is to be fifty percent fully electric in the global market by 2025. The collaboration with Electrify America is another step towards reaching this ultimate goal. After the first three years of free charging or maxing out the 250 kWh, customers will automatically be eligible for Electrify America’s Pass+. Volvo is covering the membership fees for one year. Currently, Electrify America’s network totals 635 public fast-charging stations with big growth plans. Volvo wants to make sure their clients have easy access to public charging stations across America.
The new 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge is now available for ordering on the automakers website. Production will begin this fall with U.S. customer deliveries planned for late 2021. Assembly will take place in Ghent, Belgium.
