Finally, we can confirm that Jeep is now offering Gorilla Glass for the Wrangler and Gladiator. We recently just ordered a new Wrangler 4xe and selected the Gorilla Glass option for $95. This is a fantastic option for Jeep owners if you do any sort of off-roading.
When Jeep officially launches this option, not all trims level will be eligible. On the Wrangler, it will be offered to the Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon 392, Sarah’s 4xe, and Rubicon 4xe variants. For the Gladiator, it’s offered on the Willys, Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave. Gorilla Glass is what is used on most phones and other electronic devices. It’s a chemically strengthened glass which is thin, light, and highly resistant to impact. The Gorilla Glass is about 52% thicker than stock, making it three times stronger.
If you miss the option to select the Gorilla Glass on a build, their is an aftermarket option available. Michigan-based Hyperperformance Glass Products makes a Gorilla Glass windshield for the fourth-generation Wrangler and now Gladiator. It’s not going to be $95 though, they charge $700 but it comes with free shipping and a two-year warranty (excluding the cost of installation).
*Easter Egg if you look at the photo below on the bottom of the driver side of the windshield you will see the Gorilla Glass Logo!
