The best-selling, award-winning Kia Telluride SUV is getting some upgrades for 2022. The biggest and immediately noticeable upgrade is a redesigned grill sporting Kia’s new logo. Kia continues providing a value-packed interior with more standard equipment on the lower trim levels (LX and S), including the 10.25-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, plus Kia Drive Wise Advanced Drive Assistance Tech. The S models are even getting a wireless device charger.
The option of having Kia’s Drive Wise Advanced Driver Assistance on all trim levels provides quite a few upgrades. The features included are Driver Attention Warning, Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Following Assist. Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control-Curve (NSCC-C) is also standard on all trim levels started with the 2022 model. This system relies on navigation data to recognize curves, different speeds, and other factors and adjusts the cruise control’s set speed as needed.
The 2020 Kia Telluride will not feature any mechanical changes this time around. It will still run the 3.8-liter V6 engine paired with an eight-speed transmission getting 291 horsepower and 262 pound per feet of torque. Front-wheel-drive is standard, but customers can upgrade to all-wheel-drive.
The Telluride will start arriving at dealerships over the next several weeks. Five trim levels will be available: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. Pricing starts at $34,015, and adding all-wheel-drive is around $2,000. The SX Prestige is the only trim that comes standard with all-wheel-drive.
