Ram announces new RAM 1500 Edition just in time for the Auto Show Season! The new BackCountry Edition adds to Ram’s 1500 Big Horn and Lone Star models. This Edition delivers an off-road ready, feature packed truck, straight from the factory. Some of the standard features offered with the BackCountry option include: off-road calibrated shocks, all-terrain tires, skid plates, electronic rear differential and hill-descent control. Even the name, BackCountry, resonates with most truck drivers.
This week at the Chicago Auto Show magic happens. Ram will debut the BackCountry Edition, which will be displayed with the rest of Ram’s lineup. Ram truck proudly holds the title of North America’s off-road truck leader and the BackCountry adds to the reasons why. This package offers consumers convenience, comfort and off-road capability in one package. Ram 1500 BackCountry will resonate positively with customers who live an active lifestyle and this is the latest example of how Ram trucks deliver features and durability that will continue to win over more and more buyers.”
The BackCountry Edition exterior features include: 18-inch black wheels, black two-tone exterior paint, black badging, exhaust tips, headlamp bezels, mirrors and running boards. Additionally, the package offers a body-color grille surround and tonneau cover. These features set it apart from the other trucks in the light-duty lineup. Ram buyers will being able to purchase a truck with an appearance package and a tonneau cover, making it ready for anything.
It has several performance standard functional features. The first one is the 4×4 Off-Road Group, which includes tow hooks, skid plates (for the front suspension, transfer case, power steering and fuel tank), rear electronic locking axle, off-road calibrated shocks, hill-descent control and all-terrain tires. It also has the Bed Utility Group, which includes upper adjustable tie downs, bed extender (with RamBox only) deplorable bed step, bed lighting and spray-in bed liner. Again, Ram has added several of the features straight from the factory that customers purchase as an aftermarket add on. The BackCountry is available in both the 4×4 Quad and 4×4 Crew Cab body style. Both configurations have the optional 5.7-liter V8 and 5.7-liter V8 engine with eTorque mild-hybrid assist.
The interior of the BackCountry Edition features a black interior with bucket seats. It has a 7 inch touchscreen standard, BackCountry badge on the instrument panel and Mopar all-weather mats. This truck is ready to hit the trails, camp, go fishing or just enjoy a long drive.
Pricing on this off-road adventurer package, the BackCountry Edition, starts at $40.085, plus a $1,695 destination fee. It will be available starting in the third quarter of 2021.
