The 2020 Jeep Wrangler 3.0-liter EcoDiesel. The most capable SUV will now be available with the most fuel-efficiency and highest torque-rated Wrangler engine. The expected fuel economy ratings will deliver the highest driving range on one tank of fuel compared to any Wrangler model to date. The EcoDiesel option will be available only on four-door 2020 Wrangler models.
The 2020 four-door Jeep Wranglers will offer the new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine, with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, with engine stop-start (ESS) technology standard. This option is paired with the TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission to better accommodate the increased torque. This transmission is calibrated for low RPM shifts and the on- and off-road adventures of owning a Wrangler. There are more than 40 individual shift maps to optimize shift points for fuel economy, performance and enhanced 4x4 capability.
The EcoDiesel engine is a $4,000 upgrade, but it also requires the $2,000 upgrade for the eight-speed automatic transmission. A full equipped 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine will have a price point in the mid $60ks. However, it will be available on the Wrangler Sport for under $40,000.
